More details for Advertisers

The printed A5 magazine, Esk Valley News, is published monthly and contains articles about life in the valleys and upland areas of the North York Moors, in particular around the Esk Valley, Whitby and the North Yorkshire and Cleveland coast. Esk Valley News is a great way for advertisers to access a loyal readership and many local businesses have said how helpful it has been to get themselves known in the area. There is more about the magazine here.

Typical readers: Farming families, retired or self-employed professionals and tradespeople, tourists/visitors to the area, walkers, outdoor sports enthusiasts, accommodation providers, artists, writers, motorists and anyone who loves the North York Moors.

There is a loyal readership, particularly in the Esk Valley, which is the focus of the magazine, with other readers in Whitby, Middlesbrough, Scarborough, Durham, York and further afield.

The Esk Valley has a traditional farming base and a strong local community. It is also an important destination for holidaymakers, with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Grosmont drawing visitors from all over the UK, the National Park Visitor Centres providing activities attracting visitors to the area, and the natural draw of the magnificent Jurassic coast and stunning moorland landscape. Apart from walkers, families and outdoor enthusiasts, the area is a magnet for artists, crafts people, musicians, photographers and other creatives. Regular art exhibitions, craft fairs and concerts are held around the village venues and these and other events are covered in the magazine. Valley News is popular as a reliable source of local information and it is enjoyed for its in-depth stories written by local people.

For reader testimonials see 'What People Say About Valley News'.

Advantage of being local: The magazine is a community effort with many local people contributing articles and information.

Distribution: Printed copies are distributed each month to shops, cafes, doctors' surgeries and post offices in these Esk Valley villages: Botton, Castleton, Danby, Lealholm, Glaisdale, Grosmont and Sleights. The magazine is also available at the National Park Moors Visitor Centre at Danby. There is a growing subscription-based readership in Whitby, in other parts of Yorkshire, Teesside, County Durham and further afield.
