Beggar's Bridge Panel

Picture
A much awaited panel at Beggar's Bridge has now been installed, depicting the legend and folklore behind the construction of this seventeenth-century bridge.

Initial plans were to have a panel installed for the millennium in 2000 and therefore this moment has been very much anticipated.

The panel has been developed in conjunction with the Glaisdale Women’s Institute and the National Park Authority, and funded through the LEADER Small Scale Enhancements Scheme.

The panel was installed by National Park staff - Gregor, Field Assistant and Sam, Northern Apprentice. Also in the photo is Hanneke Wood.
