Coastal Access

Picture
An event to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Coastal Forum took place at the Scarborough Spa on 12th September.

The Forum represents all of the various interest groups and individuals that exist along the coastline of North Yorkshire and Cleveland and it holds an annual conference to update its members on local and national coastal issues. This year presentations were on coastal access - the new right to roam on the coast along with a talk on the major new waste water treatment scheme for Scarborough as well as the wealth of schemes that have been paid for via the EU LEADER programme to improve our local coastline and villages. Also on show were the popular ‘Sand in Your Eye’ sand and ice sculpture team, who were on hand to show some of their work. Yorkshire Water’s contractors gave a guided tour of the new works along the Marine Drive.
